FAQs

How do I start the process?

Please contact us to schedule an initial consultation!

How much does it cost?

The prices vary depending on the issues involved.

Criminal cases are usually done on a flat rate basis. We do not bill on an hourly rate which allows the client to know all of the costs involved before the process begins.

Family law cases are generally done on a retainer bases. That is, the client pays a retainer in advance which the attorney bills against per her hourly rate. If the attorney bills through the entire amount prior to completion, an additional retainer is requested. Any unused portion of the retainer will be returned to the client once the litigation is completed. Some simple matters like uncontested divorces are usually done on a flat rate basis.

Personal Injury cases are generally done on a contingency fee basis. The client does not pay up front and only pays if the attorney wins or settles the case. The attorney’s fees are deducted from the client’s portion.

What if I cannot make it to the office?

Under most circumstances, we are happy to come to the client if he is unable to physically come to the office.

Are your facilities wheelchair accessible?

Yes. We have an elevator in the building.

Where is your firm located?

We are conveniently located in downtown Columbia, Missouri at 700 Cherry Street on the 2nd Floor.

If you are traveling east on Broadway, take a right onto 7th Street. Go one block. We are on the left immediately after you cross Cherry Street, at the corner of 7th and Cherry.

Do you handle cases besides personal injury, criminal, and family law?

Yes. Although those are the main three types of cases we handle, often many cases do not fall neatly into any specific category.
